As early as its first year, it was labelled art cinema, in 1996 the Cinema de Contis is said to have an « exceptional soul », to be a « unique », magic and welcoming place.
Its originality stands in the quality and the diversity of its programs, thus providing the audience with a significant choice of art films, of repertoire films, but also of blockbusters at the time of their national release, or as a première.
It has three labels: Youth, Repertoire and Patrimony, Research and Discovery.
